Also WHOSE gameplay, not who's. I'm going to blame autocorrect for that one.

Most MMO games I’ve tried don’t have good multiplayer interface and are heavily combat-oriented rather than story oriented. I’m a fan of adventure RPGs, so a bunch of people out to kill bad guys together isn’t fulfilling.

For me it's story immersion and play-style! I typically prefer RPGs, which are typically single-player in video game format, and allows you to "play pretend" much easier. A lot of multiplayer games feature different gameplay loops, which I enjoy, but aren't my bread-and-butter.

Seconding this. I like to immerse myself in a playable story and explore it at my leisure and in my own way. I DO enjoy multiplayer stuff, but if I want multiplayer RPG stuff, I go play D&D. The multiplayer game stuff only appeals for stuff like Mario Kart & Smash.

I’m also a masher-of-the-controller style of gamer, so any MMO games that require knowing particular special abilities, I’m fucked.

Feeling of both self achievement and not having to worry about the failure of others.

3 things: I don't like PvP, so that's out. I often can't make long time commitments, so raids and groups are usually out. And I mostly like the story and exploration elements of games, which grouping can downplay because they often want a faster pace than I do.

Having said that, Exploring other people's builds in Landmark like we did on
@LandmarkXplorer 's show was very different and enjoyable despite my not generally liking groups. It was partly the people but also the way the game was setup. Very unique, sadly.

Few reasons. Introverted so it's hard for me to find friends to play with. Don't like depending on strangers. Solo means I can play at my own pace without upsetting others.
