The #BiggestMisconceptionAboutMe is that as a scientist I'll get lost in data. Science teaches both the usefulness and limitations of data, and the necessity of being on the ground, hearing people's stories first-hand, to understand the nuance and reality of people's lives.

Science teaches the value of objectivity, not emotional disconnect. It tells us to hear people and see evidence with fresh eyes and ears. It teaches us to remove our personal ideology from finding truth and understanding others' perspectives.

Ultimately, science and engineering, when done properly, are founded in empathy. We as engineers usually work on problems that don't directly affect us. We are focused on the end user, the patient, the recipient, the constituent.

Engineering is about creatively problem solving with another person's existence in mind, and in communication and collaboration with them, developing what they need. It is about enabling people to have the technology or medicine to increase agency over their lives.

Most importantly, it teaches you, the scientific method. If elected, will you at least try to teach it to trump? Tell him that without it, Twitter wouldn’t exist.
