My library card is valuable. It opens up worlds. It gives me power. It takes me places, introduces me to people, teaches me things I wouldn’t have known, gives me succor in times of distress, and this is just the beginning of the magic of my library card.

My local library doesn't have a great selection of the books I love to read, but it *does* have: culture passes to local venues, learning resources, e-books galore via Libby, movies and documentaries (including Kanopy). I
libraries even when I don't go!Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I spend most of my disposable income on books. I use a library card frequently to discover and read new books. Please don't follow
@MacmillanUSA and make ebooks harder for libraries to get.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Not to diminish
#reading or#libraries, but I don't follow the logic and I question the claim. Many homeless people have library cards, as do isolated individuals, introverts, the elderly, and marginalized. What impact are they having on (the) culture? Evidence? -
They're giving hope, comfort and occupation to those individuals so society as a whole benefits?

I have one! Luckily my library has an online ebook option as well as audiobooks! I don’t have to go into a library to borrow a book!
