Nor is convergence the goal. A P2P app facilitates communication between people, and must present enough information for a user to understand what other users mean to say.

I think non-technical users will have to learn the same branching workflows that developers use.

Well, I know what it’s like to have persistent/immutable data structures by default in a full-stack web application (Clojure+ClojureScript) and it removed a ton of friction and made composing features nearly effortless, so CRDTs are at least enticing.

Caveat: I’m highly aware that the data structures for which changes commute freely must be restrictive, so there will be an expressiveness challenge. The question is can that envelope be enough for something big and meaningful.
