I've been trying out SwiftUI, but it's barely worthy of being called a preview release. Does anyone have experience with React Native? Like, how heavy is the runtime, and how easy is prototype with it?

Easy to prototype especially if you’re a ReactJS dev already, but like anything else it can be buggy, etc

Alas, I was hoping it was established enough to mostly not be buggy. Though to be fair UIKit is also a mess.

Are you just messing around or building a small scale project? You’ll be fine. If it’s something larger scale or more serious then like anything it will require an investment in learning and tinkering :)

Small scale tbh. Not so big that I couldn't rip it all up do it over if I am filled with regret. As I often am.

Curious to hear how it goes! Been wanting to do a little prototyping just ReactNative.

I ran an installer and after printing some black text (and some exciting ASCII art!) on my black terminal, it put 71972 files in a folder. A sense of forboding descended.

Sounds like JavaScript! But don’t fret the dev experience is pretty nice

Okay only 216 of these need to be checked in.
