Not to contradict the above, be prepared to be underwhelmed by the documentation throughout the ecosystem. It often lacks a clear audience, meaningfully motivated examples, and conceptual overviews for use.

Rust feels bleeding edge, but if you try to get on the Rust 2018 stabilization of the syntax, you'll actually be ahead of most documentation.

Beginners will often encounter compiler errors concerning "temporaries" and "contents"—concepts not introduced in the Rust Book.

The Rust Book itself is Actually Pretty Good. The nomicon is delightful besides insightful. I don't know why Rust By Example exists. The biggest thing the language itself could gain is a pattern library.
