Since I’ve been camping so much in the Olympics & hating the city, looking at properties. $5-10k for land, some on bus lines, almost no property tax, wont go up because there will never be a way to commute to the city. I don’t need to be in a city for work. I’m liking this option

There’s still easy access to grocery stores and towns via the bus, I can still get to Seattle via a few hours on a bus. It’s just outside the “work commute” distance to Seattle.

I am very aware of Geography of Nowhere & I do not want to disconnect from people who I can help. But at the same time I ask myself why I pay $1.5k/month to live in a place I’m not happy in and do not need to be in. Maybe I can connect with rural communities I can help even more.

I’ve been interested in settling near Port Townsend for many years. I want it to be semi-communal: collaborative but not insular. Trying to work up some interest and animus over the next year or so.
