Serious question: what led you to seeing through it? I'm neither handing out nor angling for cookies, but I'm really interested in this because as I think about the various white men I know who do actually make real commitments to make the world better...

...I keep learning that they're trans, immigrants, Jewish, or married to someone in a minority group, etc. I'm realising that the number of men I know who don't fall into any discriminated-against group is so tiny that I kind of want to interview each of you.

That's a very good question. It might take an actual interview, but the main things might be living in the city I grew up and went to college in -> associating more with people unlike myself, and a willingness to listen and reflect.

There's a lot more to it. Moving to NZ as a kid made me a kind of third culture kid. Inherited Norwegian stoic attitudes -> not caring as much about the things money affords me. Being a sensitive person, and feeling comfortable enough to listen to others.

Me too! I feel like last week on the lake recharged my shields helpfully, and I'm hoping that can last until we go to the Mountain and top them up again.
