The first few months of the pandemic propaganda normalized this attitude among some apolitical people I know. Now they enthusiastically insist that everyone who is punished deserves to be punished--since they "looked bad" and failed to stay off of the authorities' radar.

It's been the creepiest part of the pandemic for me, and I've never brought up this particular case because I doubt they're political enough to follow it (and I barely followed it), but it has infected everything. It's not partisan or ideological--it's pure emotion & status.

If “he shouldn’t have been there” means that it wasn’t in his own interest to be there, I buy that. If it means that he had some moral obligation to vacate the public streets of the city where he worked and where his father lived when he lived 20 minutes away, I’m out.

More like why tf does someone drive to a protest with an assault weapon and gun down two people?? Like maybe that was his goal?? Not too hard really

West needs more men going, selling all they have, giving to the poor & following Him. The rest won’t save anything worth persevering.

He was a child. Armed underage children in high school should not be engaged in violent racial riots, even if intent was morally right. There is no doubt he was acting in self defense but that’s a far cry from saying that it was a great idea that he was in that environment.
