There is just no other way to put it, the Crime Bill was catastrophic and lead to the massive prison population, which is a majority of Black and Brown people. This was a known fact then and Biden knew it, it was a strategy to get white voters from Republicans, he should own it.

Absolutely. I am already in the no wagon, but I think that he should be given the opportunity to explain his position and how he feels now knowing the negative affects of the bill. As you said, he doesn’t appear to acknowledge the harm, which is unacceptable.

You are right, the damage made was tremendous. This was a political calculation with no regard for this affected by the policy. Repeatedly it has been to the detriment of minorities in an attempt for white votes. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the Primaries.

When he was introducing this bill he was bragging about how tough he wanted to be on crime and wanted Dems to be as tough as R’s. He even called people super predators, so again he will have to live with the fallout and own those things.
