Can someone please explain the difference between female genital mutilation and circumcision?
Because it sure seems like in both cases baby genitals are being mutilated.
Yet one is illegal and condemned, but the other is legal and expected.

Neither is good persay, but male circumcision, typically, is the equivalent of slight labial trimming with anesthesia. FGM is typically the equivalent of the penis being fully cut off and dug out of the pelvic cavity leaving a gaping hole several inches deep without anesthesia

Not true. Foreskin is the most sensitive part ofthe penis. Male circumcision is much more like removing the clitoralhood, half or more of the inner labia, and doing a great deal of damage to the clitoris especially where it connects to the labia
