Why is male circumcision not called “male genital mutilation”? It is exactly that. When you take a knife to someone’s body and cut pieces off without a medical reason, it’s mutilation, period.

This is no different than abortion. Circumcision is a choice a parent makes. It's their choice, either religious or not. I personally believe a women has the right to choose on abortion. Excluding late stage situations. Thus I believe a parent has this choice for their child

No. It's also not a common practice. I don't believe it serves a valued religious practice either. It's not quite the same as male. I will admit I don't know the exact details but male and female Circumcision are not equivalent.

From my understanding inside the US, female Circumcision is not common, even in the US Islamic community. I understand the practice is meant to directly hinder sexual activity in a female. That's different than male. I see your direction but I'm not sure they can be compared.
