Good points. "Chope’s objection is reasonable, not preposterous. Discussion around #FGM increasingly takes place in a highly emotive and heavily politicised arena. Ill-informed debate fuelling hostility serves no one well and needs to cease" @NimkoAli https://amp.theguardian.com/society/2019/feb/12/in-defence-of-christopher-chope-on-fgm-legislation?__twitter_impression=true …

Do you believe mutilating a child's genitalia is ever justified, Christine? FGM is illegal. Male circumcision should be illegal.

You answer your own question, FGM is already illegal. As for male circumcision that can be medically required and I do not know whether it is true but I think I once heard that there are actual health benefits

Replying to @morris1_k @John_J_C_Moss and
bogus health benefits. As bogus as the health benefits FGM proponents give for their particular brand of genital mutilation. Non-consenting genital mutilation is just that. Regardless of sex.

Non-consenting? Who Says? Unless you think men and women are just kids/idiots needing YOUR authorisation/consent to act and take care of their kids.

No health benefits for FGM. But male circumcision can be medically required, you can look that one up for yourself.
