For me personally, my life literally was put on hold to have Houston (I don’t mind that, and he was totally worth it. Do not get me wrong).

But I had to temporarily drop out of college, go back home and live with my toxic ass father, I was unable to get a job bc no one wanted to hire a pregnant girl, struggle to make money and the little money I did make ALL went to preparing for Houston’s arrival

I gained well over 50 pounds while I was pregnant. I could barely walk because my stomach was so heavy which made it nearly impossible to do normal everyday things without the aid of others (which I didn’t have bc my parents worked so I still had to do everything on my own)

Not to mention all of the other physical changes that were occurring inside my body that made it difficult to breathe, sleep, and even see at times. A woman’s organs have to shift and move in order to make space for the growing uterus that holds the baby.

Meanwhile, Houston’s father was out “living his best life” drinking, smoking, partying, still having sex, not even remotely concerned about what I was experiencing or the fact that he was about to be someone’s father (not talking down on him, just making a point).

For me, my foot went up a size, my hair fell out in clumps, I had to have stitches down there so it was still difficult to walk and even use the restroom for several weeks after.

And even tho I was experiencing all of the afterpains that postpartum brings, I still had to care for Houston. Which means constantly getting up in the middle of the night, feeding him, changing diapers, cleaning him, caring for his circumcision- the whole nine.

you could have opted not to circumcise him then caring for a circumcision wouldn't have been a problem and he would has slept better. circumcision is genital mutilation.
