FGM causes life long medical conditions and is done in very different circumstances than male circumcision. To compare FGM to male circumcision it would be taking part of the shaft of the penis not just the foreskin and to a child not infant.

The foreskin is a part of the shaft. It has functions. MGM can also cause life long problems. In Africa, boys are often cut as teens instead of infants. Boys die from it. It is horrific.

There are men regularly getting half of their penis cut off as small children. I hadn't heard of that. I will go look it up.

The amount of skin removed varies. You can about how much skin was removed proportionately on an adult by the scarring.

Been looking and cannot find anywhere where male circumcision includes cutting off half of the whole penis not just skin.

It is not meant to, but it happens. Docs make mistakes. The foreskin is an entire organ on the outside of the shaft not "just skin." It keeps the glans moist and helps w/ lubricate during sex.

FGM is not comparable to male circumcision.

male circumcision removes tissue analogous to the clitoral hood, connection between clitorus and inner labia and approx. half of hte inner labia. If removing that is mutilation of her, than it is also mutilatin of him.pic.twitter.com/F8cuPP9CvT
