Why doesn't yesterday's #gay conversion therapy ban in NY mean much? For the same reason that #Google is keeping a conversion therapy app on Play Store. Please read and retweet. Let's try to spark a conversation about REAL change!

The most that the NY ban on Conversion Therapy will do is inform those who have never heard of this ATROCIOUS attack on a young person It would have been better 2 use a similar approach to this law as the law that bans female circumcision Hopefully someone can craft a better law

Astonishingly enough, Pam, the ban on female genital mutilation in Michigan is being challenged on religious liberty grounds, and defenders of surgically excising young girls' clitoruses have won the first round in federal court. This is the danger of religious privilege.

Circumcision is a parent choice and made not only on religious believe but health issues. I know a boy that HAD to have a circumcision due to infection. There is no pain once healed. Genital mutilation serves no medical purpose and does make intercourse painful for them.

where FGM is a cultural practice they make the same bogus health claims and the same anecdotes. male circumcision aims to decrease male sexual pleasure. the medical justifications came afterwards. Do some people need a circumcision for health reasons? sure, also Mastectomy

I had no idea. My boys are circumcised, not because of religion but because their father is and wanted them to be also.
