Hearing someone say, "Oh, Portlanders have the least amount of accent - practically no accent at all." reminds me of people saying C syntax is "normal" / "natural" / "intuitive", etc...

A friend had described mail-in rebate offers as a sort of tax on the forgetful. I guess the same goes for mail-in 401k rollovers? 😬

Getting used to cabal new-build, but annoyed at the lack of something like "sbt publish-local", given the number of libraries I want to use which aren't useable as currently published on Hackage.

This is a truly excellent piece by ⁦⁩. A professional journalist providing insight on why and how she does what she does, and the reason it’s important.

I'm thinking this probably sets me up for a promotion. Printing a page seems pretty business-y. It's akin to wearing a tie, I think.

I have managed to get 1 out of 2 pages to print today (through a combination of avahi-dnsconfd, cups drivers, thumb drives, rubber bands, walking around to different printers in the office, etc). Have I accomplished enough to call it a day?

What I've been doing is going to hackage and clicking through the deps, looking to see if anything looks like it depends on lens (I have a rough idea based on familiarity with a number of common packages).

Is there an equivalent of e.g. (to lista project's transitive dependencies) for Haskell? E.g. I want to see if a project has `lens`in scope. I could open a REPL and see if it's in scope?

Seems it could replace my docker usage - which is just as an Alpine chroot to statically link against musl. Though that could also be just a chroot or systemd-nspawn, I guess.

I worked a system I imagine to be like Nix back in 2007 - I'm on board with the idea. I feel I could do with learning it someday. But I don't think I've felt the need to have more than one version of something installed at a time generally.

I got a text out of the blue that says: "I'm looking for an IT company in the area to partner with that offers solid business support solutions using our proven sales process. Whats your schedule like to hop a call to see if we have a good fit?" What do I say?

Cows make milk. They milk themselves. Other cows check the milk (for free). Cows - get this - PAY THE FARMER to take the milk away. Then the farmer (you won't believe this, honestly) sells the milk *back to the cows.*

Just procrastinated so hard I set up a blog and wrote about linearity and erasure in Idris 2. I'm probably not going to make a habit of this...
