🆕WindowInsetsCompat.Builder Added to the platform in API 29, we now have a compat version which _should_ work back to API 20. Especially useful for testing, since you can create insets for any scenario, without relying on flags and device config.

There are at least two problems with using "synchronized" keyword on methods: 1) Expose implementation details 2) Leak the LOCK (which is the object itself) to the outside world In addition, devs usually capture too much code into critical sections with this approach.

It's official: Dagger is more difficult than rocket science. Now we can safely say: "Come on, it's not Dagger..."

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but data types in memory or distributed can provide support for all SQL like operators that implement functional type classes like FunctorFilter or Foldable. AQL for Kotlin is an impl of that

Remember that you can automatically remove all the unused resources you might end up having in your app with Android Studio - and it is essentially a few clicks.

Been too long since I've written an article. Time to break the streak. Time to learn how Repositories, RxJava and AAC ViewModel can break your app, and make your code worse. Yes, really 😜

    1) No matter how many times I've done tech talks, I still get stressed and nervous. Tuesday, when I was doing a webinar called "Why I Left Java for Kotlin" with 250+ people I hit a wall. I had to step away for 30 secs.

You don't always need ConstraintLayout. CL is useful but not required and it’s harder to use than other layouts. Don’t overcomplicate your code to make it happen. Use LinearLayouts and FrameLayouts when it's all you need. Go ahead and nest them a little, too; usually it’s fine.

Interesting gist explaining how to control execution: - run several coroutines sequentially - don't run coroutine if one already running - cancel previous coroutine and start new one 👉 Thanks for sharing this !
