I asked the police if this is actually going down or if it's just paranoia. Guy said "I obviously can't tell you that, man." Which, fair. The heavy rain is going to make updates tricky but will let you know if i see anything big

Pat King is here. "We don't need to antagonize them. They're putting up fences for a reason, but I don't know what the reason."

I asked King if he's concerned the truckers here will have their accounts frozen, lose their trucks/livelihoods. He said his concern first and foremost is for safety. "Bank accounts? That'll get fixed. It's just money they make new money every day."

Here's where we're at: there's a massive increase in police presence today. They e retaken areas like Metcalfe and Elgin which were basically under trucker control before. I haven't seen any arrests yet. Feels like this could be a new normal vs a full sweep operation.

You probably can't stop the people from getting in, but with the bus loads of police down here now you can probably keep their vehicles from surging into the city core. This weekend should look different than the last few

The new wave of law enforcement seems focused, for now, on the east side of downtown. Over on Kent Street, where protest vehicles are tightly clustered for blocks on end, there's no notable police presence.

I have no idea what’s going to happen over the next 24 hours. Still doesn’t seem feasible to move all the protesters out, but it also doesn’t seem feasible to keep so many police from across Ontario here for days or weeks. Huge turning point one way or the other.

I hope they crack down and start enforcing these punishments. The fact that the protestors are facing few consequences has emboldened them to crawl out of the woodwork everywhere. Enough is enough.
