It's actually really frustrating how folks in the Golang world consistently fight against generics. I get you may not be building data structures. But maybe you'll consume the work of the people who do?
Also Go fostered a community culture of hostility to generics (and new features in general), so it’s not just the leadership anymore.

It's interesting how gophers are enthusiastically (albeit quietly) building their own generics frameworks. I can think of more than 4 and I am not embedded in that community.
