(Those horrible things, BTW, involve sending signals to all threads and making them all call setuid() at the same time in the signal handler. And it’s racy if you do it while threads are exiting IIRC.)
Sounds like an exciting source of security bugs, much like the same issue with Mach vs. POSIX semantics on macOS!
Huh, does that mean a Linux "process" can have threads running with different uids?! O_o Does anything significant make use of that?
Not that I’m aware of. If you do that in your app you’ll break glibc, which most apps don’t want to do :)
