Thanks! That “+ 8.0” is needed to turn a signed value into an unsigned one unfortunately. (Clamp filtering is needed, so can’t mirror.)

Ah! Could try adding 0.5 to u, and moving the 1/16.0 factor inside the abs and see if that helps (it's possible that it could manage to fold it into the d expression for free by converting something to a mad.. or try to manually write out the mixes and rearrange).
