I upset some people on Reddit with similar sentiments. I was arguing for superhero languages, not superhero programmers, and there were fewer superheroes than 'the collective narcissism of C++ devs' would lead us to believe. Possibly not the most tactful way to make the point:)

The "SSC++P" viewpoint can be seen as optimistic: "humans could do this, if they tried hard enough". Or it can be seen as pessimistic: "humans don't try hard enough".

This reminds me of the attitude taken by engineers in 1980 who insisted (with a not-very-subtle implication) that HP's RPN calculators were somehow objectively "better" than TI's infix calculators.
