People demand parallelism from programming languages a lot more than they actually use it when offered.

I think those things are the biggest roadblock to practical parallelism, and it’s why language/type system aid is so useful here.

(I think make -j is a success because the OS process model is a forcing function to encourage concurrency safety, similar to a type system)
