IMO, anything that furthers the current paint/composite distinction on the Web is harmful. This includes Animation Worklet.

Animation Worklet should support all CSS properties and not encourage use of only a small subset of “accelerated” ones.

The whole notion of “accelerated” CSS properties is a historical accident. Let’s not bake it into the platform.

I’m also uncomfortable with the way that the user input the worklet can react to is limited. It feels like a hack.

If what we’re really trying to solve is “isolated event handlers that we can run off main thread”, then why not solve that directly?
