Well that post is over 1yr old… Try downloading Servo nightly & loading Reddit & resizing the window. That's what I mean by talk is cheap.

Or if "resizing the window" is somehow unfair, just look at the quality of the rendered page. Or try to focus any text field and enter text.

And I'd say Chrome is rendering Reddit perfectly, nearly instantaneously, and about 3x as fast as the Servo nightly.

Parallel rendering works and is a big win. I’ve verified this over and over again. It would be foolish to not go after it.

I defer to your expertise and I wish you success! But I also wish there were some tangible, usable product that demonstrated this benefit.

More immediate wins is why Stylo—the Gecko branch that integrates Servo styling—exists and is under active development.

Heh, was about to mention those efforts, earlier. Ordinary users of Firefox are making use of quite a couple of parts from Servo already.

Curious:is the Stylo branch being used yet in the released FF product? Or is this still an integration effort for employees & self-builders?

As long as it requires a self-build, it doesn't exactly make for a very strong argument for the "tangible, usable" application of the tech.

If successful it is intended to ship on a relatively short timeframe.

i.e. ship by default, on for all users.
