Didn't OCaml at least used to have multiple incompatible implementations of containers in their own stdlib?

the crowd that reimplements standard containers (usually for perf) coincide with the spot that only C/C++ occupied for a while tho

The stdlib can't possibly satisfy all needs, so in a low-level language you'll always see alternate implementations.

Shouldn't be a problem though in a language with at least a basic generic interface/trait/protocol for associative containers.
