does #rustlang have support pluggable precise moving GC? i.e. I want stack maps and being able to update pointers (assuming no derived ptrs)

@mraleph I believe not (yet?), but the goal is to have various types of memory management in libraries like std::rc http://static.rust-lang.org/doc/master/std/rc/index.html …1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@mraleph … and have the choice of memory management be part of the type, e.g. Rc<T> or Gc<T>. CC@rustlang1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@SimonSapin@rustlang well, that's precisely something I wanted to avoid. This is similar to manual Handle<T> system you have say in V83 replies 0 retweets 1 like

@mraleph @simonsapin @rustlang I think you have to have some sort of pointer type if you want stack allocation; even Go uses *Foo
