Most of the sins of C++ are due to backwards compatibility with C. C++ is a much-better designed language than it gets credit for.

@pcwalton I like exceptions just fine. C++ exceptions simply don’t work. References belong in Perl; they make no sense in ptr-driven lang. -
@tqbf I think we agree there. I don't like the implicitness of them although it seemed like a reasonable hack to get operator[]= to work
