Just supporting independent implementations isn’t going to make an OpenBSD Rust appear. Someone still has to do that work.

Do you know why OpenBSD isn't supported? I'm unclear why it would need special support. I figured the issue was inability to build in a "make world" setup without binaries to bootstrap from.

People keep telling me rust isn’t bootstrapable when what they mean is “I refuse to download the pre-built binary as a start point and insist on source only with a c compiler”.

To be fair, the idea does leave a little bit of a sour taste in one's mouth when they can happily build from source every other piece of software they run on their systems starting with the tools available in the base system and chomping through the dependencies.
