> Rust could go to the effort of not linking to pthread if no extra threads are spawned but…why? Because Hello World is the standard against programming languages are evaluated. If your HW binary is big, all of your binaries are destined to be bloated, apparently.

And bloated binaries is a Very Serious Problem, so we should all use Java or C++ or something.
