So, my Wayland compositor for AR and VR is working well. However, there are two problems that may make this a dead end: 1) Xwayland won't work over waypipe and even then, I'd need to implement a large part of X11 from scratch, 2) Not enough apps are Wayland native. [1/n]

Probably, yeah. Since this definitely requires magic on the back end anyway, maybe the right answer is to put all the X11 stuff there, and send data over the network using a VNC variant or somesuch. That way it requires minimal reimplementation... Hm.

Sidenote: there's apparently a pure JavaScript X11 client library that supports core + many extensions. I don't know if I've ever been so horrified in my life. And impressed.
