It's really quite strange that in times that our CPU's were much slower we wrote backends in terrible things like php, but now you can do it in Rust. Getting free 'massive' scalability on just that piece of http handling.
At least PHP was usually used with mod_php. CGI would fork processes for every request!

Thats true, that was already a performance improvement. Was hard to 'scale' on a virtual hosting provider though.
