Obviously I disagree with this criticism of Cargo. Some may call it “SAT solving”; I call it “making it easy to keep dependencies up to date”. I wish there was some discussion of Haskell here, which has a policy that attempts to address these issues, a way of updating packages to fix things, and a lot of controversy about both.
