Unpopular opinion: Standard libraries shouldn’t offer Random() and SecureRandom(). They should provide Random() and InsecureRandom().

The problem with this is that people love to write language benchmarks that ultimately benchmark the speed of rand(), and then a meme goes around that your language is slow. :(

Partially, but also because it actually does show up in profiles. SipHash has high constant overhead when hashing tiny keys (like 4 or 8 bytes).
