There’s no more reliable way to disabuse someone of the idea that X11 is worth saving than to have them write a modern GL app without any frameworks, only raw GLX/Xlib.

This is the Linux way -- terrible legacy systems, but the only people who are trying to replace them are jwz's CADT.

I mean…having the compositor perform window management is the way every other OS works. It simplifies synchronization a lot.
