If I had infinite time, I would write Shader Rust: a complete Rust-like GPU compute ecosystem, including std to formalize CPU sync and transfer, compiling to SPIR-V. All written in Rust, of course. Can someone else do it, please? k thx

Yup, time sucks - but we are in no rush. Coming up with a proposal/road map would be the first step, then we can figure out the stages to implement the whole thing. Some support/feedback from the Rust compiler team might make the implementation much easier to get going.
