Its a little absurd to see my 4k fullscreen editor code fold-animate text at 60fps whilst using 14% cpu here on metal. I think i did it this time. Broke free of the terrible chains that are HTML for UI.

Thats for a big file, a small file is more like 6% at 60fps. This is what its supposed to be. Whoever made us think using 2 cores full blast for janky scrolling basic text was acceptable.

To be fair, a lot of the overhead in the browser stack is security related: you can't directly invoke the GPU from content process so you have to invoke IPC.

Have there been experiments with non-jit runtimes and no ipc? I imagine some apps would do better with that.
