Interesting side effect of the Bay Area having really small "cities": some Ramzan fasters get unreasonably tied to one location (or can't fast) because on days you fast you're supposed to stay within a radius of x mi from your home city border. And our cities are tiny.

What the precise definitions of "travelling" seem to depend on what precisely you follow, of course.

It's just interesting that a rule which makes sense in (presumably) most places -- don't fast if you have to travel! -- breaks down here because cities as tiny as Albany, CA exist

(I'm not Muslim and don't know the specifics so I don't know how this applies to people living in areas which aren't "cities", but a friend of mine remarked how he's having problems he wouldn't have if he lived in Oakland instead of the much smaller Berkeley)

Even Berkeley is pretty huge compared to Albany or Emeryville.

This is false, though. There’s also a couple hotels and a dim sum place.

Rudy’s Can’t Fail Cafe across the street is pretty great actually.
