CSS has a lot of problems, but most complaints about it are about bogus things easily solved with flexbox. Well, I’m not saying no, for cases in which there are no floats. Just that supporting floats is a reasonable feature. (I’m not sure that Knuth line breaking is the best algorithm BTW; surely there have to be heuristics that can do better than brute force.)
