        As you're rewriting layout, keep in mind @rocallahan's advice to build fragmentation, regions, and writing modes into the architecture from the start.

        Yeah, I think the ECS architecture we’re building should help with that stuff by allowing us to have multiple overlapping tree structures…there will need to be a bit of experimentation to nail it down precisely, but it’s something I’ve thought about.

        does international text layout just mean bidi, or are you also thinking about OpenType shaping for Indic, Arabic, etc.? because we're working on this in Rust right now and it would be great to compare notes!
