There was my survey the performance of Larceny on x86 calling conventions that were all not-what-youd-expect because it used %sp as a pointer to a global software register file... But of course the real answer was: stop doing that.

I really should try to reconstruct all the revisions necessary to make that change. I have a vague recollection that I had to make our code generator insert nops to keep continuation return sites 4-byte aligned
