So far rust is working exactly as designed and advertised, bugs happen less often and are only in the places they could happen, so you have less to check.

People will generally resist change (Rust) and stay using what they know (C++). That being said, at least C++ is improving quite a bit since 2012 (C++11/14/17), incorporating some good ideas from Rust and other languages.

I do live near the Alps and yes, they are one of the most beautiful places on Earth. And I'm a C++ developer. Gosh now I feel damn lucky!
