It's wild how many engineers I've met who have an explicit silicon valley exit plan. Save until a specific amount is reached and then go buy a boat somewhere.

I know, it's great here in so many ways, but every time I go on vacation I think "I could trade my tiny plot of clay for a lakefront house with a movie theater in the basement!"
