How many non-copying generational GCs are actually deployed in the wild? I know of exactly one. All the others are copying.

It does seem like the ROC could work much better in a language like rust, because you know statically which writes are writing to non-thread-local memory (i.e. don't need write barrier all the time).

I actually like the idea of just avoiding the write barrier entirely by hashing pointers.

It’s how almost everyone does generational GC! If you aren’t benchmarking against a copying GC, you aren’t really benchmarking against generational GC at all.
