Yes. As someone who has been running Qubes OS (VMs with no gfx accel) for a few years, I'm painfully aware.

Running macOS with no graphics acceleration is pretty eye-opening. I was already unsurprised by the time I got as far as Safari.

@haikuOS gets along just fine without it, and we have "modern" browsers (new QtWebKit, but our own native WebKit port that struggles to get by...). Perhaps everyone's gone lazy with all this free performance at their fingertips? - 2 more replies
