TIL Safari can encode HEIC images via canvas.toBlob(callback, 'image/heic'). But, it can't decode them. You can make'em, but you can't display'em.

(Safari hands off its encoding to the OS, so you're getting whatever the OS supports, as long as it's addressable by mime type. I guess it does something different for decoding)

Good question. Encoders are usually safer than decoders right? Especially if there's no options.
