    Clicked through to the article and the tweet definitely did not have to have to get all anti-masker on us, wow ACM.

    Face masks cover up a significant portion of what facial recognition needs to identify and detect people -- essentially threatening the future of a multimillion-dollar industry unless the technology can learn to recognize people beyond the coverings:

    There are times when async works very well - I don't need to be in front of my boss to tell them I am done with the assignment they gave me. I can just send/share my output and move on to other stuff. But most of my work is not that - it's talking to others to drive some outcome

    Suburbs would suck a lot less if you could have a coffee shop to walk a few minutes to, a bar to grab drinks at after work with friends, a school you could stroll to.

    Now that work from home is becoming increasingly normalized, strict distinctions between commercial and residential zoning are going to become even more nonsensical than they already are

    I never had professional mentorship IN MY CAREER. I rarely had managers. If I did, they did the bare minimum or were downright toxic & unequipped for their jobs. This combined w/working at small orgs meant it was a monumental effort to advance my skills.

    A lack of professional mentorship is an existential threat to today’s design practice.
