Could schools _please_ stop teaching kids that it’s racist to treat people differently based on race? These kids grow up to think that any difference in treatment is racist, even when that difference is designed to _offset_ systemic racism.
Regrettably, the problematic definition you cite (treating people differently based on race, period) is the one in the *dictionary*. I could be wrong, but this seems like it's connected to why racism (as we and many POC define it) is so hard to dismantle.

It's hard to dismantle racism (as defined in http://www.dismantlingracism.org/racism-defined.html … ) if the dominant definition of that word ("racism") in what the power structure considers an authoritative source, isn't even on the same page with what we are talking about.
