looked at Dell XPS 15. There's a version which is similar to MacBook Pro 16" (better version with i9), They re the same in tech specs, but Dell is for ~300-400$ cheaper + it has a better gpu.

true, XPS 15 seems more VFM. I was looking at the i7 baseline specs of MBP 16, and getting a deal which works out to slightly over $2000, here in India.

Bro, i feel it wud be a gud upgrade for u too, in that case. Free of the niggles that earlier butterfly kb had. I 'd been using the late 2016 13' for sometime before I switched over to the MSI prestige. Absolutely loved it's form factor, performance & speakers... Was a beast.
